Cubist tableware set
Project type: exhibition prototype
Date: 2016
Materials: silver plated brass
Having the challenge to develop an individual approach to form making in an area of the domestic product that everyone is familiar with I have placed attention to ergonomics and created a character for Cubist tableware through repeating motives of a geometric form. Prior to working with the material, prototypes were made in foam to test how changes in dimensions affect the feel and appearance of flatware pieces. Final designs were cut and sculpted from a thick sheet of brass, formed, and silver-plated.
